Marketing Update: January 2026
During January, the marketing team focused on execution and momentum.
January was about completing the foundations. We finished the website design, setup additional social platforms and continued improving SEO and data integrations.
February will shift to refinement—optimizing content strategies based on data, finalizing messaging frameworks, and preparing for coordinated launches.
Summary
In the last month we:
- Completed the website V1 redesign – Full design sprint with CMS backend.
- Expanded social media presence – Secured LinkedIn and Facebook pages.
- Advanced Messari partnership – Finalized spotlight dashboard negotiation/implementation and the Q4 publication.
- Built SEO and content pipeline – Refined our SEO for the new website, general publications and overall messaging on social platforms.
- Optimized based on performance data – January analytics showed our ‘Reply Guy’ strategy has improved interactions across X and Reddit.
What we did in January
1) Website V1 redesign: major design milestone reached
- Completed the full website design sprint with Le Fruit including homepage, integrate, ecosystem, RUNE, TCY, and blog pages.
- Set up and deployed Sanity CMS for easier content management and SEO optimization
- Finalized the swap interface design with a UI kit delivered to the development team for implementation
- Completed a comprehensive design review session covering mobile responsiveness, animations, and brand consistency
- Refined all website copy centering around our SEO and overall messaging
- Positioned for a late Feb-early March public release
2) Social media: expanded platform presence and refined strategy
We have setup/gained control of THORChain social media pages on most social media sites. If we get over 1,000 follows to these pages we can start live streaming podcasts/stages to these channels. So we ask that readers follow each channel and spread the word to help grow our social reach.

- We also completed a performance analysis on the X account which showed our 'Reply Guy' strategy is driving measurable engagement increases
THORChain on X
- Migrated Medium content to blog.thorchain.org with canonical links transferred for SEO preservation
- Onboarded WithTheCoke for YouTube content including weekly recaps with PatriotSounds and social media clips
Expanding beyond X gives us platform diversity and allows us to meet different audiences where they are. The data-driven approach to X content is helping us understand what works and what doesn't so we can optimize accordingly.
3) Data visibility: Messari partnership progressed
- Negotiated Messari Spotlight dashboard offering for business/investor audience reach
- Defined data requirements and metrics for custom dashboard including revenue, transaction volume, and key protocol stats
- Messari published THORChain Q4 2025 Brief providing third-party validation and research coverage
- Coordinated launch timing for new website and dashboard, targeting mid Feb for maximum impact
Messari provides access to institutional investors and researchers who rely on their platform for due diligence. This partnership puts THORChain data in front of decision-makers at funds, exchanges, and crypto institutions.
It now means THORChain will start coming up in analyst searches for protocols that generate revenue which in turn will increase THORChain visibility in general.
4) SEO & paid placements: content pipeline built
- Developed a comprehensive paid placement framework for approximately 7 publications
- Built an FAQ list containing 15+ high-intent questions targeting search discovery
- Updated legal and compliance pages including Privacy Policy and Terms of Use to reflect current operations
- Coordinated with CircleClick on SEO implementation for website launch including metadata, schema, and analytics
We are building a sustainable SEO presence from both a technical point of view (metadata, schema) and content point of view(FAQs, paid placements). This work positions us to rank for high-value search terms when the new site launches
Analytics for Jan
January showed strong recovery and expansion across traffic, search visibility, and community activity.

Traffic and engagement both increased meaningfully with SEO impressions up 132%. Search visibility more than doubled.
Volume dropped significantly (-71%) following December’s outsized record swaps, however, user activity increased:
- Swappers up +18%
- Transactions up +10%
This suggests broader retail participation vs fewer large whale swaps.
Google Keyword Growth (30 Days)
- “crypto swap” +644 impressions
- “swap crypto” +495 impressions
- “swap cryptocurrency” +288 impressions
- “dex crypto” +246 impressions
Google is expanding THORChain visibility across transactional swap and DEX queries — exactly as intended.
Overall Direction
January shows:
- Traffic growth
- SEO scaling
- Broader user participation on the front end
- Lower average swap size due to fewer large whale events
- Stronger content performance on milestone announcements
