THORChain Dev Update for Weeks 126–129, 10 Jan — 30 Jan; DOGE Launch, Cap Raise, Node Voting, THORGames, Network & Community Updates

Summary

DOGE Launch, Node Voting Started, Cap Raised, THORGames for Synths, MCCN updates and Community updates.

Highlights over the last 3 weeks:

  • DOGE deployed to Chaosnet
  • Luna deployed to Stagenet
  • Synths Deployed to Stagenet
  • Caps raised from 16M to 22M
  • WTBC Pool Added

Some issues with LUNA need to be resolved before it is fully functioning in Stagenet, work continues.

DOGE Launch and Cap Raise

DOGE was launched in Chaosnet, the first time a L1 has been deployed to the network. Several lessons were learned which will be taken forward for the LUNA deployment.

Caps were raised to 18M for the launch and have been subsequently increased to 22M. Currently, the soft cap has not been reached.

Node Voting

As control of Mimir has been handed over to the Node Operators, voting has started. Voting can occur on all Mimir values, such as the Incentive Curve and Validator Reward Ratio. Two settings currently being voted on are:

Incentive Curve — increases rewards paid to Liquidity Providers within the context of the Incentive Pendulum. The current setting is 100, giving more rewards to Liquidity Providers. Read more on the docs.

Validator Max Reward Ratio — governs the implementation of ‘Node Rewards Relative to Bond’ current setting is 1, same rewards regardless of the bond amount.

Synths Public Testing Launch — THORGames for Synths

A public testing program on Stagenet for THORSynths will be launched this week. This is a combined THORChian Community effort. It will run for up to 2 weeks and include:

  • Interface support from Brokkr and THORSwap
  • Up to 33,000 RUNE on offer for those who can break or game the system on Stagenet.

THORChain Monitoring bot

■ New notification type: Large BEP2.Rune transfers, known CEX addresses are decoded

■ New notification type: daily BEP2.Rune CEX inflow/outflow update

■ Added the percentage of switched runes to the total supply

■ Dialogs: The metrics menu was split to Financial and Network operation

■ The Mimir tracker has been rewritten to fit the changes in the API

■ Dependencies updated, solved version conflicts

■ Better bot’s start up routines

Work in progress:

- Settings HTTP API and Slack Bolt integration into a single HTTP server (Starlette+Uvicorn)

- New Docker Compose configuration to support the web server

THORChain Monitoring bot

■ NodeOp settings API is complete including token management

■ NodeOp settings frontend is almost done

■ The way settings are stored in DB has been changed to be compatible with all notification distribution channels, not just Telegram

■ Fixed a bug in Net Stats in the inline mode

■ All unnecessary services have been transferred to other server machines

Next:

- Deploy the frontend and API. Test it for Telegram

- Slack: generating links to the frontend

- THORChain block scanner for Node-Mimir tracking

- Show the dollar amount for each asset in the wallet overview.

- Improved terminology on the Network Status Page.
