Rujira Weekly Recap 29: What’s New in Omnichain DeFi

Welcome to Rujira Weekly Recap, where we share all the interesting things that happened recently!

⚡️Faster deployments

We have added a new feature to THORChain v3.9, which will allow the deployment of CosmWasm contracts by a whitelist of approved deployers. This will give Rujira, and other App Layer projects, the ability to launch new apps, updates, and fixes on their own schedule, without waiting for the next THORChain upgrade.

⚡️Signing via your favorite EVM wallet

Another important feature has been added to THORChain v3.9, bringing us closer to the omnichain vision. With this upgrade, users of EVM wallets like MetaMask and Rabby will be able to sign transactions on Rujira using their familiar wallet interface without the wallets even supporting Cosmos chains.

That’s 20 million wallets with direct access to Rujira.

⚡️Recap Q2

The past few months were all about the Merge, the launch of $RUJI, and the soft launch of our first few products, laying the foundation for what’s to come.

⚡️Q3 Roadmap and beyond

Yesterday we shared our roadmap for Q3 and beyond. Building on the building blocks of the past months, the next few months our full focus will be on rolling out new products and strategies, refining what’s live, and bringing Rujira to a wider audience.

⚡️The first $1m of TVL on Rujira

A big milestone for Rujira as we cross our first $1M in TVL. This is just the beginning. Once we open the floor to Bitcoin DeFi and other assets, expect an explosion of activity and TVL growth.

⚡️RUJI Perps passed $100k volume

RUJI Perps hit $100K in total trade volume, with LTC and ATOM leading the way. We are also seeing more users deploying liquidity, which will only grow as the pools get integrated into RUJI Pools.

Perps on Rujira are just getting started!

⚡️TRON is coming to THORChain

THORChain v3.8 brings a lot of improvements, including support for the TRON chain. After a few weeks of setup, TRON will go live, giving us access to one of the top chains for stablecoin activity.

⚡️Discussion ADR-20

Pragmatic Monkey, Mark and Orion joined a TC Community Spaces on Saturday to discuss ADR-20 and competition on the App Layer. It was a constructive conversation that helped clarify Rujira’s role and aligned on the idea that decisions around competition and fees make the most sense after the 12-month period.

⚡️THORChain Q2 report and Q3 Roadmap

A packed report from THORChain covers everything that happened in Q2, including TCY, the close of the ThorFi chapter, the launch of XRP, and groundwork for additional chains.

For Q3, expect plenty of exciting developments, including 2-second blocks, Noble, Solana, Tron, and more.

⚡️DCA’ing with CALC Finance is getting close!

CALC Finance’s contracts are ready for audit, which means DCA is coming soon to Rujira.

With the contract finished, the team is now focused on building the UI and adding features so you can set up recurring swaps directly from the RUJI Trade interface.

⚡️Revenue dashboard

We hit $30K in total rewards generated on the App Layer, and daily revenue is picking up! Shoutout to Jandevman from the Liquidy Finance team for putting this dashboard together while we work on more granular analytics for RUJI Analytics

⚡️Community contest

Great initiative by Eric to spread the word. A community contest showcasing how THORChain and Rujira are a natural fit, complementing each other’s strengths.
