TCU THORChain Updates (Nov 2024)

In this series, TCU aims to give regular condensed “state of THORChain” updates. Enjoy!

1. Churn Issue

On 31-Oct, with one node yet to adopt v2.137, the network faced a churn issue due to a new keygen verification step. v2.137.2 and v2.137.3 were released in quick succession to resolve this.

2. Halt Signing BTC

On 4-Nov, a potentially suspicious transaction was noted, and out of an abundance of caution, a few alert nodes elected to halt outbound BTC while investigations were carried out. 3. RUNE Burn from System Income Increased to 5%

On 18-Nov, node voting reached consensus to increase the RUNE burn from 0.01% to 5% of system income.

4. Short-term Roadmap

Devs are focused on THORChain v3.0.0 hardfork, updating to Cosmos SDK v50 and establishing the AppLayer. Expected mainnet release on week of 9-Dec.
