Weekly Dev Update #62

Summary

V15 was released successfully to both nets and work continues to prepare for the upcoming Bitcoin testnet.

THORChain received new features such as native Rune, as well as native Gas. THORChain will not require users to pay for gas in RUNE, rather, they can pay for gas in the asset they are sending, since THORChain is aware of the prices of all assets in the system. In addition, transfer of liquidity assets will also not require RUNE, rather Gas can be paid in the asset itself. This is likely to be the first for a production blockchain, and only possible because THORChain is its own oracle.

New Releases

V15 was deployed to Testnet and Choasnet. V15 fixed a bug that caused Nodes to not receive bond rewards when over-bonded. This was found and fixed by a community developer.

Midgard

Fixes and tweaks for stability.

• Resolve “Add poolEarned, assetEarned and runeEarned to /v1/pools_detail”
• Resolve “Use jsonb for events features in new database scheme (store v2)”
• BUG: Midgard will continue to scan new blocks even if database connection is not healthy
