Access to leading AI models is still fragmented across different providers, subscriptions, and payment systems. NanoGPT simplifies this by bringing models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, and many other providers into a single platform where users can pay with crypto and access them without creating an account or completing KYC.
Rather than operating its own AI models, NanoGPT acts as an aggregation layer. It connects users to 601 text models, 202 image models, 151 video models, and 77 audio models while handling the routing and payments behind the scenes.
How Does NanoGPT Work?
NanoGPT gives users access to a large selection of AI models through one interface and charges them based on usage rather than requiring separate subscriptions.
Users add funds using crypto and can then choose the model they want to use. NanoGPT pays the underlying AI provider for each request and handles the connection between the user and the model.
The platform also includes routing tools designed to make this more efficient. Its auto-model feature analyzes a prompt and selects a suitable model based on the task, while its coding router allows users to choose the level of capability they need and then finds the lowest-cost model that meets that requirement.
Because NanoGPT works with multiple providers, it can also offer redundancy. If one provider becomes unavailable, the same model may still be accessible through another infrastructure provider.

Why Does NanoGPT Use Crypto?
Crypto is central to NanoGPT's accountless model. Users do not need to create an account or provide personal information before accessing AI models, and payments can be made directly with cryptocurrency.
This allows NanoGPT to offer a pay-as-you-go model without requiring users to maintain separate subscriptions with each AI provider. It also fits with the platform’s focus on privacy and permissionless access.
NanoGPT publishes monthly statistics showing which cryptocurrencies users actually choose for payments. In July 2026, Monero accounted for 36.42% of deposits, while Bitcoin (including Lightning) represented 22.73%, and USDT and USDC together accounted for 18.22%. The company has published these payment reports each month since November 2024, providing a useful look at how crypto is being used for real-world AI payments.

How Is NanoGPT Connected to THORChain?
NanoGPT’s connection to THORChain was shaped by a problem the team experienced with centralized exchanges. After sending a Dogecoin payment worth $32, one of its exchange accounts was frozen because those coins had previously passed through a restricted exchange. The funds remained inaccessible while NanoGPT still had bills to pay.
That experience reinforced the value of permissionless settlement and helped lead NanoGPT toward THORChain. The integration was completed through THORChain’s API, with co-founder Milan Dereede saying the documentation was clear enough that his co-founder was able to work on the integration while flying home from Bitcoin Vegas.
Through THORChain, NanoGPT can support crypto payments across different blockchain networks without requiring users to first move their assets through a centralized exchange. For THORChain, it is another example of its liquidity being used behind the scenes as payment infrastructure rather than only through a dedicated swap interface.
Conclusion
NanoGPT brings AI models, crypto payments, and routing infrastructure together in a single accountless platform. Users can access models from dozens of providers while paying only for what they use and without managing separate subscriptions.
For THORChain, NanoGPT shows how cross-chain liquidity can operate behind the scenes of applications that are not primarily focused on trading. By integrating THORChain into its payment infrastructure, NanoGPT can give users more flexibility over how they pay while keeping the experience simple.
