If you have been paying attention, Chads, you might have noticed a fresh face in the DEX aggregation scene: @JunctionFi.
The team recently announced the integration of @THORChain and @Maya_Protocol via @SwapKitPowered , enabling cross-chain swaps with ease. Beyond that, Junction connects more than 20 chains through their routing engine with full integration, giving access to all existing tokens.
👉The ambition is clear: Junction aims to become a central player in the aggregation space. 🔁
But who exactly is Junction? Where did they come from? And what makes them different? Let’s find out.
1️⃣ A Founder with Solid Experience
Behind Junction is Adrien, a DeFi native with a track record of building for the space.
His journey began at Ledger in 2017, where he worked in product and developer relations for several years. During that time, he created Stakelab, a platform that made staking far simpler at a time when user-friendly staking tools barely existed and were still a mystery for many.
Adrien then joined the XDEFI Wallet team, a well-known project in the THORChad community, where he brought his UX expertise to a wallet that quickly gained a loyal following. Junction’s origins can be traced back to this period, as the routing engine developed at the time is now the foundation of the platform. When XDEFI transitioned to CTRL, Adrien decided it was time for a new challenge.
He teamed up with:
🔹Diane, a 10 years product designer well known in the space for her work at Ledger or WalletConnect and
🔹Nabil, a former Morgan Stanley and Coinbase Quant/Engineer, the mastermind behind the routing algorithms.
Together they started Junction, built with one goal in mind: to give users the smoothest possible experience for swapping and interacting across chains.
2️⃣ Seamless UX as a Core Principle
The first thing you notice when using Junction is its clean, minimal, and intuitive interface. There’s no clutter, no distracting animations, just a direct path to swapping.

Once you connect your wallet, Junction displays your entire portfolio, showing balances for each token on its respective chain. The Activity section is particularly well thought out: instead of needing to dig through block explorers, you get a clear visual record of swaps, received funds, sent funds, and more.

The Earn section acts as the hub for monitoring XP accumulation (see section below for more about XP). Over time, it will evolve into a full-fledged yield hub, offering access to staking and other earning opportunities.

The focus on user experience hasn’t gone unnoticed, Junction was selected by Circle and awarded a grant to deploy CCTP v2, which will significantly improve USDC transfers across chains.
3️⃣ Accumulate XP for the Airdrop
To gain traction after launch, Junction introduced an XP Campaign. The premise is simple: the more you use the platform, the more XP you earn. The XP gained will determine your allocation of the future $JUN airdrop.
The fee structure is straightforward:
🔸Stablecoin swaps or bridging the same asset: 0% fee
🔸Regular swaps: 0.1% fee
🔸Cross-chain swaps: 0.30% fee
The ratio XP:Fee is linear and simple : for every $0.01 in fees, you earn 1 XP.
Referrals sweeten the deal as referred friends get a 10% discount on trading fees, while you earn XP equal to 20% of their trading fees.

4️⃣ The $JUN Token
Junction has announced its upcoming $JUN token, which will unlock multiple benefits:🔸Fee discounts on swaps, Earn, and on/off-ramps
🔸Staking and yield opportunities in Junction Earn
🔸Access to launchpad events for early-stage projects
🔸Gas-free trading via Junction API & Exchange
🔸Community-led on-chain governance for major platform decisions
The token’s distribution model has been outlined in detail by the team, and more information can be found in their Medium article : https://medium.com/@junctionfi/tokenomics-of-the-junction-token-jun-06fe95d8905e
5️⃣ What’s Next for Junction?
👉The team has plenty on the roadmap, with UX remaining the top priority. Expect more wallet integrations, social logins, and expanded routing options as they continue to optimise cross-chain swaps.
👉The recently deployed CCTP v2 through their Circle grant will make USDC transfers faster and more cost-efficient. USDC will also be more and more accessible and integrated over time. This will allow users to rely on USDC as a base asset for transactions across multiple chains.
👉The Earn section will also expand in the coming months, introducing staking and yield features that build on the expertise developed through Stakelabs.
👉Finally, the Junction API will position the platform not just as a DEX aggregator but as an integratable tool for other dApps, enabling seamless swaps within third-party platforms.

💭Closing Thoughts
With a founder who has deep roots in DeFi and a strong understanding of the THORChain ecosystem, Junction is bringing fresh energy and innovation to the ecosystem.
At THORChain, we love seeing builders who are willing to experiment and improve the user experience. Junction is exactly that and it will be exciting to see what they create next. ⚡️
